What to Prepare:   Sides will be provided for each role; Town Hall will let you know which sides to prepare in advance and will be providing a reader.

Please bring a hard copy of your photo and resume.

Roles: CHARACTER BREAKDOWN –

Sasha: girl with a deadline, child of Russian immigrants; Reads as 10-13 years-old

Sam: cab driver/student of dentistry, West Indian; Reads in 20s

Trudi: businesswoman with time management issues; Reads in 40s

John: wheelchair-bound Brooklyn bridge buff; Reads in 90s

Talidia: mother with a lot of laundry, Puerto-Rican; Reads in 40s

Singer/Songwriter: woman stuck on a song

Ensemble 1 (Shadow figure 1, letter carrier)

Ensemble 2 (Shadow figure 2, pizza man)

Ensemble 3 (Bridge worker)

Ensemble 4 (Civilian)

Ensemble 5 (Washington Roebling)

Ensemble 6 (Emily Roebling)

The character breakdown and doubling above for Ensemble members 1-6 are just an example; the roles may be divided in a different manner.

AUDITIONS:  Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 12:30pm-4:30pm, at Town Hall Theatre, 3535 School Street, Lafayette, CA 94549.

CALLBACKS:  Callbacks are by invitation and will be held Sunday, September 30, 2018, from 6:30-10:00pm, at Town Hall Theatre, 3535 School Street, Lafayette, CA 94549.

REHEARSALS:  The rehearsal period begins mid-January, 2019 and runs through February 27, 2019.  Rehearsals are generally held Mon-Friday evenings, 7-10pm, and Saturdays, 2-5pm, at Town Hall Theatre. Tech weekend is scheduled as 10am-10pm, Feb. 23 & 24, 2019.

Compensation/Stipends:   Stipends are available to help defray travel and other expenses.  

Non-AEA. 

PRODUCTION DATES:  BROOKLYN BRIDGE will be performed Feb. 28 through March 23, 2019 and  March 7 and March 14 at 10am (14 performances, including 2 Previews). Performances will be at 8:00pm Th-Sat., at 2:00pm on Sundays and at 10:00am on Wed., March 7 and March 14.  PLEASE NOTE: there are 2 daytime matinees March 7 and 14 and two Sunday matinees on March 10 and 17.


AUDITIONS FOR GREAT EXPECTATIONS AT TOWN HALL THEATRE

Six actors portray dozens of characters in new version of Dickens’ classic coming-of-age story.

What to Prepare:   Please be prepared to perform one 2 min. comedic or dramatic monologue from modern/contemporary theatre. This is a movement-heavy piece, so audition pieces demonstrating movement skills appreciated.Please bring a hard copy of your photo and resume.

Roles:CHARACTER BREAKDOWN – 6 Actors (all ages, ethnicities, and genders, playing adult Pip and Narrators 1-5); 2M (alternating in role of young Pip, age range of 7-14); 2F (alternating in role of young Estella, age range of 7-14)

REHEARSALS:  The rehearsal period begins week of October 1, 2018 and runs through November 28, 2018.  Rehearsals are generally held Mon-Thursday evenings, 7-10pm, and Saturdays, 2-5pm, at Town Hall Theatre. Tech weekend is scheduled as 10am-10pm, November 24 and 25, 2018.

PRODUCTION DATES: GREAT EXPECTATIONS will be performed November 29– December 16, 2018(12 performances, including 2 Previews).Performances will be at 8:00pm Th-Sat., at 2:00pm on Sundays and at 3:00pm on Sat., Dec. 8 & 15. PLEASE NOTE: there are 2 double-show Saturdays, Dec. 8 & 15. Also note there are two Sunday matinees.
