3 reasons to visit Town Hall Theatre this 2016/17 season!

Have you been thinking about visiting us at Town Hall Theatre but just haven't gotten around to it? Let us give you 3 great reasons to come to our theatre in the heart of Lamorinda! 1.) Our 2016/2017 MainStage Season has something for everyone!

We have bookended our season with two plays you won't want to miss and you may even want to compare! We start our season with, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, written by Jethro Compton, a British playwright. The core of this play, set in 1894, is a love story nested in an American legend. Audiences will be captivated by the impact a migrant Easterner has on the Western lives and values in Two Trees. In complete opposition to our season opener, we keep the setting in the late 1800's, 1895 to be exact, but we instead take you to England itself and show you where those eastern values that took over America came from. This all happens through the lens of Oscar Wilde's wildly popular play, An Ideal HusbandSandwiched between these two plays, we promise to make your holiday season bright with our family favorite, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Guaranteed to sell out, so buy soon!) and your thirst for hit musicals quenched! Our musical, Smokey Joe's Cafe is a Grammy winning musical revue that will fill Town Hall with 39 pop standards, including rock and roll and rhythm and blues songs written by songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller!

2.) Our 2016/2017 Music and Comedy Concerts offer variety entertainment close to home!

We are constantly booking acts to fill our stage when we don't have a full house watching our MainStage shows and Education Performances! This weekend, on Sep 2 2016, you can catch The Buzztones, a British acoustic band and Sep 3 we have an election year comedy act created by Will Durst! Following, November 4 2016, we will host Foreverland and November 5 come see Midnight Flyer! (More details coming soon!)

3.) Town Hall is a place to gather with friends and family!

Don't just come for the art, come for the space! Take a break from your electronic devices and listen to live music in our lobby before The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance! So far, we have booked Billy Raphael the last two weekends in October for pre-show lobby banjo and harmonica! Maybe even take a selfie with our WANTED poster! After the 50 minute family friendly version of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, stay for Christmas carols in the lobby (TBA certain performances), sip hot chocolate and visit with friends! We offer signature themed drinks for each show and we encourage our patrons to meet up with friends and enjoy some real face time! If you come to any of our openings, have a free champagne toast with our actors and crew while we all mingle together to celebrate live theatre!

We hope these are three valuable reasons to take time out of your busy lives to experience the joy that live performance and community gathering can bring to your life!

Thank you,
