Adult and Youth Actors share the stage again at Town Hall Theatre!

Following a long standing tradition here at Town Hall Theatre, we have produced a festive family show for the holiday season that showcases actors both young and old. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, playing through Dec 17,  challenges youth actors to work a MainStage rehearsal schedule under the direction of a professional Director. Dating back to the 50's when Town Hall Theatre was known as fullsizerender-14Dramateurs, we have required youth actors to participate in the same rigorous audition call as our adult actors. While many of the youth actors study acting, dance and voice in either our Theatre Education program or in the community, this experience is like no other for them. When they are cast in one of our MainStage shows that is part of our season, they are expected to work with adults in a peer to peer relationship. They communicate and collaborate with local adult artists and gain professional skills as a result of , "on the job training".  They follow deadlines for memorization, take down blocking, and incorporate feedback and critique from the director as they develop their character.

Youth actors even get paid a stipend in the form of a gift card! We want them to learn that artists are paid for their work!

Lynda Divito,  Director of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, has guided the family units

on stage in a way that captures the authentic moments of parenthood, sibling rivalry

and spousal camaradarie. This past weekend our patrons have been leaving feeling amazed and inspired by the youth actors who are sharing the stage with the talented Bay Area adult actors!

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Dec 3-17) offers fun for the whole family no matter what the age.
