Word for Word is a theater company that brings short stories to life, honoring the author’s intent by using every word of a text. Word for Word Performing Arts Company is thrilled to bring their Off the Page reading series to Town Hall Theatre Company.
“Smoke and Shadows” centers on a Russian woman living in the U.S., navigating her professional life as a professor, her intimate relationships, and the lingering pull of memory. As conversations unfold, small imbalances of power, desire, and misunderstanding come quietly into focus. Told with Tolstaya’s sharp, restrained eye, the story pays close attention to what passes between people and what remains unsaid.
After the performance, join us for a post show discussion with the creatives.
Check out the Town Hall happy hour from 6:00-6:30pm and enjoy a $1 off all beer, wine, and cocktails!
