Determined to get through her 72hr psychiatric hold with as much detachment and sarcasm as possible, Mary starts off her first day deflecting any attempt at emotional support or bonding that gets thrown at her. Unfortunately for Mary, one exceptionally extroverted patient, Amir, is especially determined to break through her shell. But as the two grow closer, Amir's own struggles with mental health become more apparent. This story explores the connections that can be made in unfortunate circumstances, the bits of light that can be found in the dark, and the different ways that people try to heal and better themselves, as well as the ways that people don't.
