What's unique about this program?
Our Residency Production Programs feature a site specific program for students on school campus. This program regularly rehearses at Burton Valley Elementary until final technical rehearsals and performances at Town Hall Theatre's venue in Downtown Lafayette, allowing for easier scheduling for families. These programs are built for growing students in mind, great for first time actors through advanced performers, there's no wrong way to join a production! -
Programs begin in January 2027
In this class, students will learn foundational musical theatre and acting skills through games, exercises, and songs and scenes from musical theater shows. Students will additionally grow in skills such as teamwork, body control, memorization, and reading comprehension. Students will use their acquired skills to bring musical theatre songs and scenes to life for an end of class performance.

Program begins October 2026.
Students in this program will build intermediate musical theatre skills and use their growing skills to put on a production of Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Jr. Class Rehearsals are built to grow student skills and rehearse performance materials such as songs, scenes, and technical theater elements. This program culminates in technical rehearsals (required student attendance) and performances at Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette.
About the show: Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR. follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory — or suffer the consequences.
