Joaquin Moraga and Moraga Elementary Schools

This program is for 6th grade students at Joaquin Moraga Intermediate and 4/5th grade students at Camino Pablo, Donald Rheem, or Los Perales Elementaries.

Students in this program will learn basic through intermediate theatre skills and use those skills to put on a show!

About the Show:

Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek.  One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

With abundant opportunities for imaginative sets and costumes, and a host of over-the-top roles for an expandable cast, there's a part for everyone in this dazzling adventure story.

Students in this class will grow in on-stage theatre skills as they take on the characters and story of Shrek Jr.

Classes: Mondays 3pm-5:30pm
November 30th- May 3rd

Technical Rehearsals: May 10th and 12th 4pm-7pm

Performances: May 15th at 2pm and 7:30pm

Technical Crew will work to help create the world of Shrek Jr.! This class focuses on technical theatre skills like prop building, set painting, running lights, sound, and will act as our stage hands during performances.

We offer payment plans and tuition assistance to any interested registering family.
